Designing for commercially produced loom woven textiles for apparel presented a unique opportunity to employ more fashion-inspired and contemporary color palettes. In this instance, expanding the reach to a more contemporary, fashion-savvy woman, loyal to the lasting quality of the Pendleton Woolen Mills brand, but with a newer, brighter look.

This ongoing collaborative process between Textile Design, Fashion Design and Merchandisers, was met with great reception and success. These production mill woven apparel textiles, are a small sampling custom designed by Monica Monaghan-Milstein for Pendleton Woolen Mills, Portland, Oregon. At that time, Monica was the first woman to be employed by Pendleton Woolen Mills in this design capacity, in the history of their women’s textile design division.
