Designing commercially printed apparel textiles is a unique opportunity to design for apparel which is part of our everyday lives.

In this instance, the printed apparel textiles were designed to compliment and coordinate with fashion-inspired color palettes of new custom designed woven apparel textiles for the Pendleton Woolen Mills brand. This design offering had been previously outsourced, lacking the uniqueness of the new look being developed for Pendleton Woolen Mills. This ongoing collaborative process between Textile Design, Fashion Design and Merchandisers, was well received and very successful.

These examples are a small sampling of production printed apparel textiles, custom designed by Monica Monaghan-Milstein for Pendleton Woolen Mills, Portland, Oregon. At that time, Monica was the first designer/woman with the design experience to custom design printed textiles unique to Pendleton Woolen Mills women’s division. This was a successful collaborative endeavor with the printing production mill, located in Osaka, Japan.
